Open Position - Italian Speaking

Job Posting: Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Italian Speaking

Location: Niagara Region, ON

Position Type: Part-Time / Casual

Shift: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with potential flexibility to transition to 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Wage (Negotiable based on experience)


About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and fluent Italian-speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our close-knit care team. 


We believe in providing care that feels like family. In this role, you will provide essential daily support, companionship, and high-quality care to an individual within the community, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and comfortable.


Because connection and communication are at the heart of what we do, fluency in Italian is required for this specific position to best support the client's comfort and language preferences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centered physical assistance and personal care.
  • Offer meaningful companionship and emotional support.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and daily routines.
  • Observe and report any changes in the client’s well-being.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.


Qualifications and Requirements

To ensure the highest standard of safety and care for the families we support, all applicants must possess:


Language 

  • Professional fluency in both Italian and English.


Education 

  • Valid Ontario PSW Certificate (or equivalent formal healthcare training).


Certifications 

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.


Security

  • A current, clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).


Compliance 

  • Up-to-date WSIB coverage or compliance clearance.


Professional Affiliations 

  • Active registration/membership with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) and/or the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association (OPSWA) is highly preferred.
